In the wake of the global financial crisis 2008, a payment system referred to as Bitcoin was invented and released as open-source software by Satoshi Nakamoto. There was the internet in the early 90s, and then came MP3 of the late 90s and early 2000s, followed by Google, Facebook, and Twitter!

Satoshi Nakamoto launched Bitcoin in the midst of the 2008/9 financial crisis as an alternative to the current system, and with this encoded message, he emblazoned this intention to the world on the bedrock of the Bitcoin blockchain. Presenting Bitcoin ostensibly as an alternative to the current financial system as he did, Satoshi couldn’t have scripted bitcoin halving any better, coinciding as it has with a time when stocks are souring alongside record numbers of unemployment.
